InnerVue™ PipeSuite provides a non-intrusive method for pipeline diagnostics. The service can be carried out with the pipeline system online, there is minimal setup required and minimal operational impact. Data collection takes only a few hours and preliminary results are available within two days. The services provided by InnerVue PipeSuite are as follows.
Deposit Profiling
Pipelines that have been in operation for a period of time may experience a build-up of deposits in the line that restricts flow and increases the risk of a stuck pig or the formation of a blockage. The InnerVue PipeSuite technique has been developed as a non-intrusive method that can measure the flow area along the length of both gas and liquid pipelines.
The results of an InnerVue survey in dynamic conditions provide valuable information about the hydraulic diameter along the line to identify areas where debris is restricting production. Depending what the application is, this enables an informed decision to be made whether it be to improve the efficiency of a cleaning program or mitigate risks in regards to the use of a pig or an alternative cleaning method.
Blockage Location
Pipelines that have a full blockage due to debris or any foreign objects in the line cause a major loss in production and can be time consuming trying to locate. By executing an InnerVue survey, the amount of time to locate the blockage is significantly reduced and provides information that aide in determining what the best course of action and entry point will be for remediation.
Leak Detection
Loss of product from pipelines, attributed to acts of man or nature, amount to large losses for operators annually, not even considering the cost of remediation, environmental damage, and reputational harm. Performing an InnerVue survey can assess both the location and magnitude of any loss. It enables operators to detect, locate, and quantify the loss of pipeline inventory in a safe and cost-effective manner without having to stop production, or risk tools or personnel before performing any intervention at the leak site.
Gas Liquid Pooling
Gas pipelines that have been in operation for a period of time may experience a build-up of liquid at low points which can restrict flow, cause slugging, increase corrosion or lead to handling issues at process facilities. The InnerVue PipeSuite Service has been developed as a non-intrusive method that can measure the position and size of liquid pools along the length of gas pipelines. The results of an InnerVue survey provide valuable information about the liquid pools along the line to identify areas where liquid has accumulated. This enables an informed decision to be made whether it is to improve the efficiency of production, to mitigate risks in the pipeline operation or to understand how pipeline cleaning will be affected.
Pipeline benefits:
Optimized planned pipeline remediation
Increased confidence in success prior to running a maintenance pig
Evaluate and track maintenance operations, such as a chemical cleaning program
Make better decisions regarding high-risk pipelines
Conduct comparative or baseline surveys during pre-commissioning
Detect an unknown pipeline feature (tee, wye)
Locate and quantify leaks
Report and recommendation on pipeline diagnosis and analysis from Halliburton experts
