Controls fluid loss in low-temperature environments
Halliburton’s Halad®-322 fluid-loss additive is designed for wells with bottomhole circulating temperatures of 180°F (82°C) and below. Because the additive is also a dispersant, Halad-322 additive works best with slurries with good solids-suspension properties.
Halad-322 additive was designed for shallow wells where other additives can significantly retard compressive strength development. Halad-322 additive is a mild cement retardant, even at temperatures as low as 100°F (37.8°C).
Halad-322 additive is compatible with a wide range of slurries, including those containing 5% KCl, 3% CaCl and up to 18% NaCl by weight of water. The additive is easy to mix, and it enables operators to design low-viscosity slurries for turbulent-flow cementing.
