GasCon 469™ additive is a liquid cement additive designed to help increase slurry stability and control free water. This additive can be used at bottomhole circulating temperatures (BHCTs) between 40°F and 300°F (4°C and 149°C). Regular GasCon 469 cement additive is frost-sensitive. However, a winterized version of this additive is also available. GasCon 469 winterized cement additive contains a freeze-point depressant.
Both the regular and winterized versions of GasCon 469 cement additive are extenders for lightweight cements. Consequently, they impart thixotropy to the slurry, which can help control fluid migration and cement feedback.
