Halliburton hosted executives, customers, investors, and the media for its Frac Technology Showcase on May 5-8, 2025 at Halliburton headquarters. The four-day event featured an intelligent electric frac site, where automation and real-time decision making converge to maximize asset value for the company’s customers. The event's highlight was the debut of the ZEUS IQ™ intelligent fracturing platform, the industry's first closed-loop fracturing solution.
Jeff Miller, chairman, president, and CEO of Halliburton, welcomed customers to the event and emphasized the importance of safety and the impact of the featured technologies. He highlighted Halliburton's innovation and advancements in hydraulic fracturing.
The technology showcased is some of the most transformative work I have seen in my career.
The audience interacted with a fully automated, ZEUS® spread for a firsthand experience of its capabilities. Halliburton made the digital frac site a reality and allowed attendees to control fracturing operations with just the push of a button. The autonomous fracturing spread, powered by the ZEUS IQ platform, represents a significant leap forward in the optimization of hydraulic fracturing execution to improve asset performance for Halliburton’s customers.
"The showcase was a valuable opportunity to see how Halliburton’s innovations in hydraulic fracturing can help us perform even better,” said Valli Shanmugam, co-chief operating officer of Aethon Energy. “Their solutions for automation and live fracture decisions based on subsurface data show promise to increase efficiency and complete better wells."
The showcase also featured a historical exhibit that highlighted Halliburton's century-long legacy of pump innovation, with a comprehensive look at the evolution of hydraulic fracturing. The showcase underscored Halliburton's experience in hydraulic fracturing and production advancements.
The ZEUS IQ platform is the industry’s first closed-loop fracturing platform designed to give customers more control of their asset performance. ZEUS IQ changed the industry last year when the equipment made the decisions and controlled the frac operation. Today, the platform improves efficiency and performance to set the stage for the future of intelligent, automated fracturing solutions.
What sets the ZEUS IQ platform apart is its ability to do more than automate—it communicates. Powered by advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), the platform analyzes data, adjusts controls, and executes operational decisions, all without human intervention. ML algorithms, trained on thousands of stages, allow the platform to identify unique fracture characteristics and optimize execution.
The ZEUS IQ platform learns from every operation, performs better, and delivers intelligent adaptive fracturing at scale. This is more than automation -- it is the future of intelligent fracturing, where we give our customers control to improve asset performance.
The event left attendees inspired by Halliburton's vision for the future for hydraulic fracturing. The ZEUS IQ platform is a clear example of how Halliburton collaborates and engineers solutions to maximize asset value for its customers.
