Hydrocarbon rich Norphlet target sand reservoirs have been discovered and developed in the Eastern side of the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. This Jurassic age deposition is known for its high quality oil but very challenging interbedded bitumen, or oil in place, which can hinder production rates. These reservoirs are also characterized by unconsolidated formations, hydrogen sulfide intervals, and high pressure/high temperature (HP/HT). Halliburton offers the industry’s leading wireline and perforating technologies that can withstand pressures up to 35,000 psi and temperatures up to 500°F/932°.
