A rock property prediction using seismic data is an important task in any oil and gas workflow. With the advent of Deep Learning (DL) approaches, it became possible to find patterns in seismic data. This empowered geoscientists to predict rock properties with high levels of confidence. The fundamental objective of the Deep Learning Seismic Inversion solution is to help speedup this key workflow while assisting in ensuring higher accuracy.
For this approach, the Deep Learning solution is initially trained in well data, and then made to analyze the entire seismic volume. The solution looks at patterns on the dataset, instead of modelling a seismic trace as the next step on any rock property.
