Reduce time to first assessment

CO2 Storage Screen provides an integrated toolbox of subsurface data, predictions, and analytics which allow users to easily identify, evaluate, and compare prospective stratigraphy for large scale carbon storage. Reduce time to first assessment of a region, accelerate the process of defining Areas of Review, and ensure teams are working on the right projects at the right time.

Access insights and data to identify storage potential

  • Easily identify potential storage units: Global models of storage play element distribution and depth surfaces enables the rapid identification of potential reservoir and seal pairs likely to be below supercritical threshold. Coverage across all basins, with a temporal resolution of 1-2Ma allows you to broaden the search from known stores and hydrocarbon-bearing intervals to untested stratigraphy.

  • Understand geological controls on storage play elements: Offering a holistic approach to play element prediction, integrates global models of plate tectonics, paleoclimate, depth structure and sea level change. Interrogate play elements within this framework to understand geological evolution and risks associated with reservoir and seal presence and effectiveness.

  • Regional storage atlases: Pre-built assessments of key basins and regions provide a starting point to evaluate storage potential, and compare fairways within an area. Analysis includes both geological and operational factors, and provides a semi-quantitative risk analysis to highlight critical play risks, and determined a risked Prospective Storage Resource volume.

  • Data and analogues: Saline aquifers can often lack data needed for their characterization. Access and analyze large databases of rock property, pressure/temperature, and water geochemistry data to better define reservoir and seal properties. The geologically-aware databases and subsurface models can be searched and queried to help identify analogues for data poor areas of interest.

  • On-demand storage fairway mapping: Automated workflows utilise cloud-native geoprocessing to integrate subsurface data and models into fairway assessments and maps on demand. User-defined AOIs and complete control over screening parameters deliver the assessments you need, when you need them. Application is connected to required data meaning no loading is required.

  • Rapid scenario testing: Easily change screening parameters within an intuitive application to test different scenarios by varying reservoir facies, depth cutoffs, thermal regime, or buffers around infrastructure. Interrogate critical risks and sensitivities of your fairways.

  • Compare opportunities consistently: Automated workflows are consistent and repeatable, and the underlying subsurface data and models are subject to rigorous geological standards. As a result, fairways and scenarios can be compared meaningfully,  both within and between basins, and portfolios of opportunity developed with ease.

  • Prospective storage resource calculation: In-built Prospective Storage Resource (PSR) calculator provides default assessment of total prospective storage resource for a given fairway, plus the ability to define custom fairway areas, and vary input parameters for bespoke PSR assessments.

  • Web native visualization and analytics: All subsurface models, play element predictions and data are available to view through a state-of-the art browser-based visualization portal. This includes advanced web-mapping and dashboard capabilities, along with interactive charts, cross sections and fairway mapping application. Access the complete solution anywhere, at any time.
