BackStop service is a shallow-penetration polymer gel slurry system for water and gas shutoff applications. This diverse water conformance control system provides an alternative to conventional cement squeeze treatments. 

Unique chemistry for controlled placement

• Slurry is injected into all open perforations, so no need for zonal isolation as with standard sealant jobs
• Shallow penetration of the filtrate allows for reperforation in the hydrocarbon zone
• Unlike cement, the BackStop slurry remaining in the hole does not require drilling out; simply jet it out with coiled tubing
• Longer and hotter intervals can be treated in one day, using the time allotted for wash out for placement instead
