In May of 2002 Halliburton again demonstrated its commitment to our customers in the Gulf of Mexico by delivering the MV Stim Star III. The Stim Star III is the most advanced stimulation vessel operating in the Gulf of Mexico.
Stim Star III is basically identical to the twin Stim Star and Stim Star II vessels except that it will be 20 ft longer at 260 ft. have additional proppant and liquid capacity, and more horsepower with two additional GrizzlyTM. New technologies that the Stim Star III vessel will be equipped to deliver include two new FracPacSM service and offshore fracturing systems. SeaQuestSM service includes a seawater-based, low-polymer borate fluid system capable up to 300ºF - suitable for deepwater operations. Seawater mixing means better boat scheduling, reduced rig time, and no travel time and cost for loading water. Plus, SeaQuest service fluid has been designed to eliminate precipitates and provide a highly conductive proppant bed.
