WELLCAT™ casing design software lets engineers model complex HP/HT conditions and design the most appropriate casing and tubular design, while obtaining both the right well integrity and the best cost configuration.

Proper casing and tubing design is are critically important for asset teams working in HP/HT, deepwater, heavy oil, deep vertical, deviated, and extended reach scenarios. The potential negative effects of trap annular pressure and unstable load stresses in salt zones make proper modeling of the complex temperature and pressure characteristics in the wellbore vital.

WELLCAT Modules

Drill Design

Provides transient thermal and fluid flow analysis for drilling operations. Simulations include cementing temperatures, downhole tool temperatures, circulating mud temperatures and other applications.

Casing Design

Analyzes casing loads, design integrity, and buckling behavior under complex mechanical, fluid pressure, and thermal loading conditions. Installation and service loads can be defined by standard load cases, or linked to analyses performed with the Drill and Prod modules.

Prod Design

Allows for thermal simulation of production operations. These include fluid circulation, liquid and gas injection, fluid production, shut-in, reactive gel treatment, cement squeeze, spotting cement plugs and gas-lift operations.

Tube Design

Aanalyzes tubing loads and movements, buckling behavior, and design integrity, under complex mechanical, fluid pressure, and thermal loading conditions. Installation and service loads can be defined by standard load cases, or linked to analyses performed with the Prod module

Multi-string Design

Predicts pressure and volume changes due to annular pressure build up when the well system heats up as a result of production operations or the injection of hot fluids into the well.

Well Cost Software

Provides powerful tools to accurately determine time and costs, as well as risks associated with drilling, completions, and workover projects – and to determine them quickly and easily, using a the Monte Carlo approach. This technology enables engineers to access historical and offset well data to streamline cost estimation and reporting workflows. In addition, reports and plots are automatically generated, using both deterministic and probabilistic approaches, to deliver quick analyses of results to key stakeholders.
