Singapore Welcomes TAMU Business Program

In honor of International Study Abroad Day on February 26, we’d like to highlight a unique student event that took place at the Halliburton Completion Tools (HCT) Singapore facility. On January 9 and 11, the Singapore campus hosted undergraduate students from TAMU’s Global Engineering Program and the Mays Business School. “Halliburton’s values of integrity, safety, and commitment to excellence, as well as their ability to partner with customers to maximize their value, are impressive,” said Katy Lane, Ph.D., Director of the Center for International Business Studies and Clinical Assistant Professor, Mays Business School, TAMU. “Many students walked away from our visit envisioning Halliburton as a future employer.”

Halliburton Hosts TAMU Entrepreneurs and Engineers

Key entrepreneurial influencers were invited to Halliburton on January 9 for a special introduction forum of The Entrepreneurial Hub (The Hub) at TAMU. Speakers and panelists included Jeff Miller, CEO of Halliburton and Mike Francis, Co-Founder and CEO of NanoTech. The event was a crucial step to build support toward making The Hub a vibrant, interdisciplinary ecosystem where entrepreneurial dreams are nurtured, accelerated, and turned into reality.

On January 12, the Texas A&M University Student Engineer Council (SEC) ProTrip event included a visit to Halliburton’s North Belt facility in Houston. This annual networking event provides SEC members the opportunity to experience engineering workplaces and culture in major U.S. cities. Gabby Guernsey, University Affairs specialist and event coordinator said, “The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially learning about the technical research, collaboration, and detailed organization that supports Halliburton’s operations.”

Halliburton offers a hands-on view into the engineering sector, enhances the academic curriculum, and plays a critical role to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities in their future careers.

Halliburton Teams Up with Prairie View A&M

Halliburton continues to have a large presence on the PVAMU campus. We hosted a RISE program information session, manned a booth at the school’s mid-week celebration known as Humpday, and sponsored a tailgate gameday experience in October 2023 where Halliburton employees, Prairie View faculty and staff, and RISE Scholars came together to cheer on the Panthers.

On January 12, nine PVAMU RISE Scholars and members of the employee resource group BELIEVE enjoyed a breakfast followed by tours of the technology and manufacturing sites. The Halliburton Recruiting Inclusive Students into Energy (RISE) program was established in 2021 and provides scholarships, employee mentors, and summer internships to rising juniors in business and engineering to attract, develop, retain, and advance a base of Black employees that reflects the diversity of our communities.

Educational Commitment to Leadership

Halliburton’s relationship with TAMU extends beyond campus and site visits. President’s Leadership Excellence Program (PLEP) is a year-long executive development program that enhances leadership skills and allows participants to address industry critical challenges. Halliburton’s investment in leadership and development programs like PLEP enhances the skillset of our leaders and ensures the company is well-equipped to tackle the dynamic challenges of the energy sector.
