The 2025 Halliburton Charity Golf Tournament welcomed more than 400 players and suppliers, who generously donated more than $3.8 million. The funds benefited 100 nonprofit organizations that serve the communities where Halliburton operates.
This year, 30 charities attended the event at The Clubs of Kingwood on Oct. 22, 2025. Halliburton executives and participants learned about the causes they support and the projects funded by the Halliburton Charitable Foundation.
The tournament was established to support one modest charity, and over three decades, it has grown to support more than 250 organizations and raised over $35 million. The energy at the tournament was evident as nonprofits shared their missions, and Halliburton employees and vendors were truly inspired by their stories. It’s a powerful reminder of why this event matters.
One of the 30 charities invited to attend was Gratitude Initiative, which helps children of military, veteran, and law enforcement families pursue education. With the funds granted through the tournament, they help students achieve their career goals through initiatives such as the GI College Success Academy program, which provides career counseling, test preparation, financial aid, and scholarships to students in Houston and throughout the country. “We are grateful for Halliburton and their support since 2013,” said Lee Sechrist, co-founder of Gratitude Initiative. “There is no greater way to honor the service and sacrifice of those who keep our nation and neighborhoods safe than helping their children succeed in their college and careers.”
More than 80 Halliburton volunteers made the event a success under clear skies. From registration to hospitality, the volunteers helped ensure the event ran smoothly and embodied Halliburton values, including collaboration, respect, and integrity.
Kyle Hansen volunteered for the first time and welcomed golfers. “I enjoyed seeing Halliburton employees and suppliers take time away from their responsibilities at work to contribute towards the Company’s efforts to build community,” Jensen said. He plans to return next year to volunteer for the event. Angela Castillo, who joined Halliburton in July, also volunteered for the first time. She serves at the Houston Food Bank every Saturday and believes giving time matters as much as giving money. “It is a good thing,” Castillo said. “The environment at work and at the tournament is one you want to be part of.”
Year after year, the Halliburton Charity Golf Tournament is a testament to Halliburton’s efforts to give back to communities. What started as a small initiative evolved into a force for good for individuals and families throughout the nation. We thank our vendors whose generous donations make this event possible and directly benefit the nonprofit organizations in in communities throughout the U.S.
