Pre-drill, real-time, post-drill geomechanics

A well-constrained and calibrated pre-drill geomechanical model is the first step to successful well planning/drilling in complex geological settings. Halliburton Consulting uses an established workflow and worldwide experience to provide reliable geomechanical models to reduce risk and NPT in hostile drilling environments. We perform real-time analyses and provide inputs to drilling engineers to enhance drilling performance and prevent costly unexpected events. Upon successfully drilling a well to TD, we develop a post-drill geomechanical model using all acquired well data and logs.

Geomechanics for Challenging Wells

Halliburton’s geomechanics experts provide fit-to-purpose solutions for any drilling operations, such as highly deviated or ERD, deep-water, HPHT, and pre-salt drilling, where traditional pore pressure–fracture gradient analysis fails to address the complex nature of problem. Our highly trained and globally located geomechanics engineers can provide technical support remotely or at your office to assist your drilling engineers and well design team to minimize drilling risks and prevent wellbore stability issues.

Well-Scale to Reservoir-Scale Geomechanical Modeling

Halliburton’s drilling geomechanical services range from well-scale 1D models to reservoir-scale 3D models and analysis. In complex geological settings where highly deviated well trajectories pass through laterally heterogeneous formations, our state-of-the-art 3D geomechanical modeling workflow provides the necessary technical support for safe and efficient drilling of the well to target reservoir.
