Halliburton Charitable Foundation raised over $3.4 million to support 101 charities
On Wednesday, October 19, more than 400 golfers met in Kingwood, Texas to golf, network, and celebrate an amazing fundraising accomplishment: The Halliburton Charitable Foundation raised over $3.4 million to support 101 charities! The Halliburton Charitable Foundation has hosted the golf tournament for 27 years and always sets its fundraising goal high, but this year’s total is the highest amount raised in the history of the golf tournament. Funds go directly to programs such as hunger relief for children, veteran home repairs, and mental health and substance abuse support. Since the tournament started in 1993, Halliburton has raised over $28 million for these programs.
“I believe it’s a core responsibility of corporations like Halliburton to give back to the communities in which they operate,” said Lawrence Pope, executive vice president, Administration and chief human resources officer. “We are so grateful for the tremendous support we had for this year’s Halliburton Charity Golf Tournament that allows us to strengthen the community in so many meaningful ways. We couldn’t do any of this without the generosity of our suppliers who donate.”
One of those suppliers is Vorto, an autonomous supply chain platform that automates logistics and procurement. When asked why they sponsor the event, CEO Priyesh Ranjan said, “Halliburton is very conscious about their social footprint and passionate about making an impact to charities. We are so glad to be a part of this event and to contribute towards Halliburton’s mission to help the larger social demographic.”
Undies for Everyone was one of the 29 onsite charities who attended the event. Their mission is to provide children living in poverty or crisis with new underwear, recognizing the importance of this small basic need as part of a child’s increased chances of long-term success.
“It’s amazing to be out here with Halliburton volunteers who we’ve worked with in the past, but also to meet people who have never heard of what we do and have them take that knowledge back to their communities,” said Amy Weiss, founder of Undies for Everyone.
