Drilling data alone is not enough when trying to understand what is happening at the tip of the bit. Quick processing and efficient analysis of reliable, drill bit measurements are what matter most to operators, especially in challenging applications that require optimal bit performance.  

The Halliburton Cerebro electronic data capture system provides the best available, high-speed look at data captured directly from the bit. A proprietary Cerebro software interface, delivered on the InSite® platform with built-in algorithms, reveals issues as they occur during a bit run, so changes can be made to enhance performance. A large data storage capacity (> 150 hours recording time), with continuous high-frequency data capture (1,000Hz), supports remote technical analysis anytime, anywhere—a service that Halliburton Drill Bits and Services offers to customers.

Accurate, high-speed measurements—for the entire run

The Cerebro sensor samples measurement data at very high speeds, with high accuracy. The raw data is processed and a standard report generated via Cerebro software, highlighting areas of significant vibration and inefficient bit rotation. The data is prepared for use by InSite to produce a more detailed report or further data analysis. This gives operators a breadth and depth of information, when and where they need it, for bit optimization across the entire run.

Improved drilling in all types of environments

Cerebro is primarily used with Fixed Cutter drill bits in steerable applications, hard rock formations and deep unconventional wells. However, the flexible design makes it easy to adapt to other bits and tools with the same connection dimensions, bringing powerful data capture and analysis capabilities to all drilling environments.
