In this webinar, we will discuss the well planning strategy in a basin that had complex intra-basin fault systems with rapid lateral stratigraphic change. The complex geological setting resulted in highly compartmentalized petroleum fields, where the highest hydrocarbon pays were along the fault. To maximize the possibility of extracting trapped hydrocarbons, wells are placed along and as close as possible to the fault plane, and drilled as quickly as possible. The complex geology coupled with the fast-tracked drilling program demands an unconventional methodology in order to complete complex well plans in very limited time.

The webinar will showcase the importance of blending strong geosciences and engineering knowledge within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment to achieve a significant improvement in the planning time and choice of trajectories.
