Electromagnetic Pipe Xaminer® V (EPX™ V) Service

Metal-Loss Assessment in Multiple Casing

The Electromagnetic Pipe Xaminer ® V (EPX™ V) service provides intervention capabilities to help improve well surveillance with metal-loss quantification of up to five downhole tubulars.

Using accurate High-Definition Frequency (HDF) technology, the EPX V tool reduces diagnostic time and provides comprehensive information for monitoring programs. The magnitude and location of corrosion-induced defects are identified via HDF variance algorithms of returning electromagnetic waves. These discriminate between interior and exterior metal losses for each corresponding tubular. HDF technology also helps determine the right solution for any completion nonconformity.

The EPX V tool operates via mono-conductor wireline, enabling more efficient wellsite operations through the use of cased-hole service equipment. This benefit also enables rigless intervention and conveyance flexibility to address multiple well construction and operational challenges.

One-trip diagnostics help reduce operating costs and achieve fast results. The EPX V tool is combinable with other diagnostic services, like our Acoustic Conformance Xaminer ® tool, to better address the extent of your intervention needs.
