Stress Induced Complexity in Brittle Rock


In order to capitalize on the complexity created in Brittle rock, alternate sequence fracturing can be used to reduce or possibly reverse the stress anisotropy. Stress interference between created hydraulic fractures have altered stress anisotropy. By stimulating this low anisotropy region a complex fracturing system can be created resulting in much higher access to the rock matrix.
