Drilling Engineering Solutions

As drilling complexity increases the need for a comprehensive approach to drilling systems grows. Halliburton Drilling Engineering Solutions (DES) combines expertise and experience across multiple service lines to take integration to the next level. Through its Drilling Engineering Solutions Centers, DES brings together the experts, software and technology from Sperry Drilling, Baroid and Halliburton Drills Bits and Services to design integrated high performance drilling systems. Experts work together, leveraging the DrillingXpert™ Software Platform developed on Landmark's DecisionSpace® Well Engineering software, to deliver solutions that are customized, multidiscipline and fully integrated.

There are three types of solutions offered within the DES portfolio: SHIELD, NAV & PRO.

SHIELD
SHIELD solutions are targeted to address risk issues while drilling the well, reduce incidence of NPT, including invisible NPT, and reduce uncertainty around wellbore placement, borehole pressure limits and the dynamic behavior of the drilling fluid system, bit, BHA and drillstring.

NAV
NAV solutions are targeted at improving efficiency through an integrated process to arrive at the optimum drilling system design. Solution development includes feasibility studies, previous performance assessments, determination of performance limiters, and the Halliburton Drilling Performance workflow to determine the best combination of Halliburton Bits, Fluids and Drilling tools to meet and exceed the well objectives.

PRO
PRO solutions are targeted at improving the overall well productivity through accurate wellbore placement to deliver the largest wellbore contact with the reservoir, the best orientation for fracturing or stimulating the reservoir, reduction of skin damage, and placement of multiple wellbores within the field to maximize the reservoir drainage with the fewest number of wells.
