The Halliburton slip interlock system enhances the safety of HWO operations. Traditionally operators were prevented from opening both slips gripping the pipe by use of a mechanical wedge between the control handles.
The slip interlock system is a purely hydraulic/mechanical system that does not use any electrical components. The system detects whether a slip bowl is both fully closed and has the correct operating pressure applied before allowing the other slip bowl to handle the pipe to open.
Read our datasheet for in-depth information on the operation of the slip interlock system. Learn how this system protects against the risks of operator error, slip bowl failure, loss of hydraulic pressure, and closing of slips on a tool joint.
