Tuned® Spacer V Cement Spacer

Tuned® Spacer V optimized rheology spacer fluid is designed to overcome challenges presented by high bottomhole temperatures during cementing operations.  Tuned Spacer V fluid was developed for use at temperatures to 450°F (232°C). It is thermally stable and yields a non-settling fluid at service temperature.  The thermal stability of this extreme-temperature synthetic polymer allows modification of both the rheological properties (Yield Point) and density at service temperature for project-specific well conditions and specific applications. By optimizing the rheological properties of Tuned Spacer V fluid, the drilling fluid can be displaced while eroding the filter cake from the formation. This helps prepare the wellbore to receive cement to allow for bonding and effective zonal isolation.  Both the rheological properties and the density can be optimized for specific well requirements rather than
fluid limitations.  It can be densified with standard weighting agents like Barite and the Yield Point can be adjusted through percent volume of high-temperature synthetic polymer.

Tuned Spacer V fluid offers technical advantages over traditional clay mineral or natural polymer spacers including very fast hydration and greater thermal stability.  It is not limited to drilling fluid (mud) type and
acts similar to typical water-based spacers for wettabiltiy and compatibility, though the surfactant package should be verified whenever the mud is changed.  The thermal stability of Tuned Spacer V fluid helps enhance fluid efficiency and because it is a higher viscosity fluid at service temperature it can provide greater shear energy to erode drilling fluid from the wellbore. It provides great versatility in that it is suitable for either water-based or oil-based mud.  Tuned Spacer V fluid delivers faster hydration and greater thermal stability than traditional clay mineral or natural polymer spacers.
