Operators know they are working against time when differential sticking stops their drill pipe. By applying our spotting fluids within six hours of an occurrence, the drill team stands a fighting chance of seeing the fluids penetrate the filter cake to break it up - thereby freeing the pipe.

EZ SPOT™ is a concentrated blend of emulsifiers,
lubricants, and viscosifiers. When added to base oil and mixed with water,
EZ SPOT forms a stable invert emulsion that can be added to help free
differentially stuck pipe. Densities of pills formulated with EZ SPOT
can be increased with additions of barite, hematite, or other common weighting
BaraSpot™-581 (formerly CFS™-581) pipe-freeing agent is a liquid blend of components designed to be mixed with brine and pumped downhole to dissolve any acid-soluble materials causing differential sticking of downhole tubulars. In the event of stuck pipe it is common practice to pump live acid to free the pipe, but live acid can be spent prior to reaching the stuck pipe location.
When differential sticking occurs, spotting fluids can be used to free pipe by penetrating and breaking up the filter cake. These fluids should be readily available to apply within six hours of the stuck pipe occurrence.
