Halliburton Facilities in UAE, First to Achieve API Q2, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 Certifications

HOUSTON – June 12, 2018 – Halliburton announced today that its United Arab Emirates (UAE) facilities received the American Petroleum Institute (API) Specification Q2, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications. Halliburton facilities are the first in the oil-services industry to receive the three registrations in the UAE, and the first among the company’s facilities in the Middle East to achieve this standard of excellence.

The Halliburton Management System (HMS) is aligned with the relevant API and ISO industry standards. The registrations demonstrate an organization’s commitment to exceed current generic quality management standards.

API Q2 is a risk-based quality management system that focuses on competency, service design, contingency planning, supply chain controls, preventive maintenance, inspection, service quality plans and management of change. ISO 9001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a Quality Management System. OHSAS 18001 is an international occupational health and safety management system.

“Our UAE team will continue to exceed customer expectations by listening and responding to their needs,” said Guy Tennant, area vice president for the Southern Gulf at Halliburton, “Our efforts exemplify Halliburton’s commitment to process adherence and flawless operational execution.”

“Halliburton continues to demonstrate its commitment to safety and quality of operations,” said Marty Durbin, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at API, “Safety is a core value of the industry and Halliburton’s implementation of API Spec Q2 registration is an example of the industry’s safety pledge to the public and its workers.”

API Q2 was first published in December 2011. In July 2014, Halliburton was the first company to achieve this standard in the Gulf of Mexico for its Baroid drilling fluids. The value and benefit of these high quality standards ensures the alignment with the company’s customers around service delivery and execution, and enables Halliburton to deliver on its value proposition to collaborate and engineer solutions to maximize asset value for its customers.
