South Texas - Wilcox Hybrid Formulation

The Wilcox Sand is an Eocene era deposit which is the main reservoir in a series of producing fields along the southern coastal region of Texas.
Ranging in depth from 9,000 to 13,000 ft the Wilcox is a tight, poorly consolidated, fine grained sand which has seen numerous drilling and completion techniques since the middle of the 20th century. Thought to contain in excess of 600 BCF of gas the Wilcox remains a major development target for operators in South Texas.

Constituents are the individual components used to form the additives described above.

In the table below, we identify these associated components, disclose their specific Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) identification numbers, and list several prominent common uses for each.

Constituent Name
A discrete chemical with its own specific name or identity that is contained in an additive or chemical product.
Generic Name
Term most commonly used to describe the broad family of chemicals or substances.
CAS Number
Chemical classification principles used by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), a division of the American Chemical Society. Descriptions of chemicals are listed by CAS number.
Common Use
Common applications of the material that may be used in the home or on the job in various substances.
Hazard as Appears on MSDS
Indicates a hazardous constituent as defined on a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)

* In certain cases, a small percentage of constituents may be protected under existing agreements with suppliers and customers. In these situations, CAS numbers are not listed – but the constituent's listing as hazardous on the MSDS is, as well as other common uses when identified.
** Items identified in the "common uses" column were chosen in part because the constituents found in these products exist in roughly the same concentrations as would be found in fracturing materials at the wellhead. In some cases, however, concentrations present in consumer products are either not publicly available or in higher percentages than would be found at the wellsite.
