DUNCAN, OK - Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) announces the opening of a new $15 million test facility at its Duncan, Oklahoma Manufacturing Center capable of safely testing Halliburton's proprietary oil and gas field services equipment under the most strenuous simulated conditions. Halliburton has also added more than 150 new jobs at the Manufacturing Center since the beginning of the year and plans to hire approximately another 50 workers in response to increased demand.
This newly opened 29,000 square-foot unit reflects true state-of-the-art design by allowing the blending and high-pressure pumping equipment manufactured by Halliburton to be tested under extreme pressures without the presence of personnel. Remotely operated cameras and separate hi-tech control rooms allow personnel to perform tests while they are completely removed from the testing bays, thus allowing Halliburton to deliver improved safety while simultaneously ensuring that the company's equipment meets rigorous performance standards.
"Halliburton is very proud of what this new facility brings to our manufacturing process and we're pleased to be making this large financial investment in Duncan, as well as creating so many new jobs," said Greg Culp, Director, Duncan Manufacturing Center. "It's been very rewarding for me to be a part of this effort. Halliburton is setting new standards of safety while bringing unmatched capabilities for testing oil field service equipment within our industry."
The new facility has multiple technologically advanced bays capable of testing under both low pressure and high pressure conditions. The high-pressure bays are fully enclosed and are designed with fail-safe systems to protect both people and equipment. In addition, an advanced data acquisition system throughout the facility allows the capture and storage of relevant data and test results. All Halliburton equipment passing through this facility will be calibrated and functionally validated, and will be job ready according to the company's high standards, when it leaves the testing facility.
