LANDMARK INTRODUCES 56-INCH MONITOR OFFERING 3840 X 2160 RESOLUTION FOR ULTRA-REFINED GEOSCIENCE VISUALIZATION AND ANALYSIS

Monitor is key component of Landmark’s instant team-room solution

HOUSTON, TX – Landmark, a product service line of Halliburton’s (NYSE: HAL) Drilling and Evaluation Division today introduced a new quad full high-definition monitor for ultra-refined geoscience visualization and analysis.

The new monitor, which Landmark introduced at the annual meeting of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) in San Antonio (Booth #1512), is called the Landmark M5600. It features a 56-inch quad full high-definition screen that is four times the size and twice the pixel count of today's highest resolution 30-inch screens. The monitor offers a resolution of 3840 x 2160 – two times that of today's highest resolution 30-inch monitors.

When the monitor is paired with one of Landmark's recommended visualization servers and high-performance workstations from Dell, HP, Sun and Verari, it makes high-end visualization capabilities very affordable and easy to deploy, both in individual work areas and in team rooms. Such capabilities were once available only in specialized visualization centers.

"Landmark is basically offering an "instant team-room solution," said Chris Usher, senior director of technology, Landmark. "When combined with software like Geoprobe®, Well Seismic Fusion™ or PowerView® and one of our high-performance workstations, you get a turnkey solution for your interpretation and seismic analysis. This is an especially compelling proposition for global enterprises that need to quickly and easily deploy a collaborative-interpretation environment. Plus, we can sell and deploy these solutions globally, so they are perfect for new or start-up environments."

The monitor also allows users to view multiple data sources together. According to Usher, this capability enables geoscientists to digitally revisit the days when they would put big sheets of paper on the wall side-by-side. "The Landmark M5600 allows you to do the same thing you used to do with paper, only in high-resolution digital format. Now, you can get your nose right up to the information. What's more, you can easily interact with your data, moving it around and highlighting key areas. And you don't need to rely on a plotter to see the full data."

The Landmark M5600 costs only a small fraction of projection systems offering comparable resolution. It does not require any special set-up, wiring or professional alignment, and users do not need a darkened room to use the monitor effectively. It also features an easy plug and-play set-up that allows E&P professionals to turn any work area into a team-room collaboration site in minutes.
