LANDMARK & ENGINEOUS DEBUT WORKFLOW-MANAGEMENT TOOL

HOUSTON, Texas – Landmark, a product service line of Halliburton’s (NYSE: HAL) Drilling and Evaluation Division, has debuted an open software platform that allows E&P companies to plug multiple applications into a single user interface and then run automated production workflows. Landmark unveiled the AssetConnect™ software today at the annual meeting of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in Anaheim, Calif. (Booth #301).

Landmark developed the AssetConnect software in partnership with Engineous, a Cary, N.C.-based company that develops software designed to integrate workflows in a unified environment, while also automating them. The resulting product is powerful and compelling: production engineers and asset managers can design or operate their fields and wells using end-to-end models of the entire producing system – starting with their reservoirs and continuing through their production facilities. Moreover, the product lets them use their existing models, while adding the ability to automatically run numerical optimizations or large-scale Monte Carlo analyses.

For workflows that span organizational domains or extend beyond geographic locations, Landmark offers AssetConnect Enterprise software, which enables distributed execution and centralized model management. This ensures workflow consistency and automation across the company.

With AssetConnect software, E&P companies can bring complex automated workflows into their day-to-day production tasks, using the tools their professionals already rely on each and every day.

“AssetConnect software is so advanced, yet so simple,” said Chris Usher, senior director of technology, Landmark. “It amounts to a comprehensive, multi-discipline engine that fuels optimization and better performance in a way that maximizes value and minimizes organizational change.”

Janet C. Wylie, president and CEO of Engineous, described the AssetConnect software as the logical extension of Engineous’s capabilities to oil-and-gas environments. “Optimized and integrated workflows are absolutely essential in industries like aerospace and automotive design. Bringing such workflows to oil-and-gas production just makes sense.”

AssetConnect software’s workflows can replace the heavy, custom-built processes that E&P companies currently rely on for one-of-a-kind optimization needs, especially hard-wired and manual processes. For example, AssetConnect software can create a workflow to replace a simple process like a well-performance analysis. More dramatically, AssetConnect software’s workflows can replace complex functions like field-wide optimization processes for mature assets. They can even meet more specialized needs such as automating the stimulation-design efforts used in areas like the Rocky Mountains.

“AssetConnect software offers a powerful capability,” concludes Usher, “one that is only possible because it provides a stable and feature-rich integration platform covering hundreds of disparate products, including Landmark’s Nexus® and other third party applications like PROSPER/GAP™, HYSYS®, and Microsoft Excel – as well as custom in-house software.”

About Engineous
Engineous Software, Inc. provides process integration and design optimization software solutions and services.
