What attracted you to a career with Halliburton?
The field experience, the people and the career path.
What you do for Halliburton?
Building and maintaining our client relationships is probably the most important part of my job. I work closely with our customers to handle any requests they may have for logging services, answer their questions, and help them if they have a complaint.
A typical job might begin with me representing Halliburton during the logging pre-job meetings with our client where we discuss the details of the logging job. I then go over the results of the meeting and explain the details of the job with Halliburton’s engineers and field service quality coordinators so that they are able to perform the job correctly. After they complete the job, I analyze the logging data in our computing center and deliver the analysis results as a final product to the client. I then have additional discussions with the customer to determine if they’re satisfied or if they’ll need more analysis.
What is the most interesting aspect of your job?
The interaction I have with so many people is the most interesting part of my job. Seeing and working with different types of people has given me some insight on how to handle the different situations and personalities among my co-workers and our clients.
How has your career progressed since you’ve been with Halliburton?
My career is going well and fast. I’ve been with Halliburton for four years. I worked as a field engineer for my first two years which gave me a great deal of experience on the field side. Then I was moved to the position of Sr. log analyst and I also act as RES team leader in my base operation.
What type of learning and development opportunities has Halliburton offered you?
I’ve received training for each of the jobs I’ve held so far. I had already received training so that I could perform my job as a field engineer properly. And when I became a log analyst I was with more training on interpretation and geological analysis.
I’ve also travelled to the U.S. several times for training. The training has helped me a lot in improving my interpretation skills. But, more importantly, it has helped me in becoming a good professional in the business.
What do you like most about working at Halliburton?
The Halliburton team has so much diversity. I’ve made many friends since I joined. I’ve also had the opportunity to work with some of the best people in this business and have learned so much about how we run this business. The more involved I am with this team, the more I enjoy this family and the art of the oil industry.
