OpenWire® Client Software
Description | Benefits | Features

When asset team professionals can observe, assess and react to real-time data, key decisions can be made more quickly. Ultimately, access to real-time formation evaluation and drilling data can dramatically lower well costs, reduce risk and improve safety.
OpenWire® Client software provides access to real-time formation evaluation and drilling data. The system receives WITSML™ (Wellsite Information Transfer Standard Markup Language) data from multiple Logging-While-Drilling (LWD) and Measurements-While-Drilling (MWD) data vendors, and then automatically uploads this critical well data into the Engineer's Data Model™ (EDM), OpenWorks® or GeoFrame® data management environments.
The system creates connection pipelines to target destinations from multiple LWD and MWD data vendors. Each pipeline makes it easier to include the data in a wide range of integrated workflows, such as pore pressure analysis, live monitoring of well trajectory, rapid interpretation of data, and real-time reinterpretation of subsurface data utilizing a variety of Landmark's products.
Benefits
Rapid data access
Fully automated data flows bring rig site data (LWD / MWD) in the standardized WITSML format from service companies to the office, even through company firewalls. Data loading is controlled from anywhere via SSL or non-SSL internet information protocols (HTTPS or HTTP).
Faster decision-making
Engineers, geologists, geophysicists and other asset team members can incorporate real-time wellbore evaluation data into their integrated engineering or geological and geophysical (G&G) workflows more quickly and easily. The result can be greater productivity and faster decisions based on the latest available data.

Health, safety and environment
OpenWire Client software can provide early warnings or indications of unexpected changes and drilling hazards in the subsurface environment before they happen.
Features
Data Storage
Data stored in OpenWorks, EDM or GeoFrame databases provide continual data access to asset teams. Geoscientists and drilling professionals can rapidly review and react to subsurface information from a broad range of WITSML providers, analyze the data, and recommend optimized solutions to the field.
Configurable
The system is highly configurable, enabling data transfer scheduling, datum corrections, mnemonic and unit translations, data loading rules that include automatic content creation, and adjustments of survey location to surface positions. Pipelines can be created and placed on standby with service contracts so that when drilling begins, or the provider becomes available, automatic data transfer occurs.
Web interface
The Web-enabled interface, with its dashboard look and feel, displays the status of all data transfers in a graphical representation of data pipelines. User roles allow an extendable interface to include Administrator features, which are hidden from normal OpenWire Client software users.
Robust data transfer
OpenWire Client software manages single run or automated continuous update requests to the WITSML provider, and automatic pipeline reinitialization and recovery in the event of connection failure. The software also offers database-specific depth unit and mnemonic translations in addition to diagnostic system logs that quickly troubleshoot connection problems.
Immediate access to rigs and remote servers
Supports WITSML versions 1.2.0 and 1.3.1 with simultaneous connections to multiple WITSML providers, and data transfers to various target database types. Problems with data transfers are reported to pipeline owners via e-mail through any accessible Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server.
Application and workflow integration
Landmark's software and data integration platform enables enhanced G&G and Engineering workflows:
- engineering guidance to the driller as plan vs. actual survey results are analyzed in COMPASS™ software
- real-time torque drag and hydraulics predictive analysis in WELLPLAN™ software
- updating daily reports in the OpenWells® application
- real-time data delivered to OpenWorks databases that automatically update G&G applications such as GeoProbe®, PetroWorks®, PowerView®, Well Seismic Fusion™, etc.
