EquiFlow® Stimulation Valve

EquiFlow® inflow control devices (ICDs) not only balance flow in the production direction, but have the ability to allow the operator to bullhead acid from surface to evenly stimulate long horizontal wellbores also.

In some instances the need to pump acid at elevated rates is required to either penetrate deeper into the formation or cover long intervals with or without ICD placement. In fact, an ICD completion may actually inhibit the operator from achieving their stimulation needs.

The EquiFlow stimulation valve is designed to be placed in parallel with the ICD completion. The valve can be installed and run anywhere in the completion to space out injection locations and increase injection flow rate capabilities.

The stimulation valve is designed to function like an ICD during injection by balancing flow from tubing to annulus. However, once fluid begins to flow in the production direction the stimulation valve closes automatically and forces all production through the neighboring ICDs.

This simple and cost-effective accessory allows the operator to:

  • Inject stimulation fluid at higher rates
  • Stimulate areas of the wellbore not in proximity to an ICD
  • Huff-and-Puff with increased efficiency
