Microsand™ Cement Additive

Microsand™ cement additive is a high-purity crystalline silica ground to a uniform particle-size distribution of 5 microns.  It was developed for use with Matrix™ and Micro Matrix® cements. Microsand additive can help prevent compressive-strength retrogression in high-temperature applications. It can also help cement slurry penetrate previously inaccessible areas.  Microsand cement additive is incompatible with hydrogen fluoride and hydrochloric acid.

Microsand additive provides the following benefits:

• Helps control settling and gelation.
• Can allow penetration into the formation matrix.
