As a result of unique software developed by Halliburton, it’s now possible to design dynamically balanced roller cone bits. The computer drilling simulator models bit balance condition, enabling bits to be designed to a near balanced state. The smoother drilling action means longer seal/bearing life, less damage to bit cutting structure and other vibration sensitive drill string components, such as measurement while drilling (MWD), and reducing the risk of unnecessary trips. |
