Increasing recoveries and production in Lower Tertiary fields with poor resevoir quality while lowering costs is a dilemma facing many operators. Prediction of reservoir quality is a valuable tool. Well logs can give insight to reservoir quality, such as the permeability index. Rock mechanical properties can also be generated from these logs to create input data for fracture models and reservoir simulators for production performance.
