Global Shale Gas
Regionally or globally, no two shales are alike. Careful evaluation is critical to determining the best approach for maximizing operator value
Around the world, every shale has to be studied in depth prior to making a basin development recommendation. Indeed, one should not directly apply the technology from one “similar” play to another without first taking a close look at a new development’s geology, mineralogy, total organic carbon, natural stresses and a host of other shale characteristics. More often than not, a different approach—or technology application—will be called for. To make basins economical, an integrated holistic approach usually provides optimal value. It’s an approach that only Halliburton can provide, thanks to its interconnected experts, comprehensive shale basin knowledge, extensive logistics support and proven fit-for-purpose technologies.

The leader in North American shale development, Halliburton is also providing significant shale project development studies, evaluations and project support around the world
-
Halliburton is currently evaluating approximately 30 major shale basins in Central Europe in order to identify the most potentially productive.
-
In South America, we are both helping operators evaluate shale plays and developing the most optimized development strategies for those plays.
-
In the Middle East and Africa, extensive studies are underway to develop execution strategies for the maximum shale operation profitability.
-
In China, Halliburton can be found in a number of shale operations occurring in different basins. In addition, we’re evaluating additional basins in this promising region.
