Halliburton has been involved in a multi-year process to implement a new approach to wellsite service delivery: Conveyance Flexibility. We can now deliver any cased-hole service on Wireline, Slickline or Coiled Tubing using cross-trained crews that provide safer, quicker service at a lower cost, thus giving the customer better insight and delivery times.
This has been done by unifying conveyances, teams and divisions. Conveyance flexibility offers customers the opportunity to reduce costs while using the right tools for the wellsite task.
Two separate wellsite operations often require two different crews. Logistics involved in bringing crews to the wellsite one at a time can create delays, increase costs and can force clients to make compromises in their tool choices. For example, an offshore deepwater rig can cost a million dollars per day and it can take a crew six to eight hours or more to make one round trip with a tool string. Weather can hamper logistics and delay crew arrivals, driving up rig costs. In a clean-out and repert operation, being forced to use a CT unit (because it is available) instead of a more economic wireline operation to perform the perforation job can add significant additional costs.
