University Software Grant Program

 

Landmark actively seeks opportunities to identify, develop and foster strategic academic relationships worldwide.  Landmark does this by granting access to Landmark software including GeoGraphix to universities for their use in incorporating the technology into curriculums at the graduate and undergraduate levels and for use in their student academic research projects.  The goal is to provide students who plan on entering the upstream oil and gas industry upon graduation with a foundation in the technology which they will need to use in order to be successful in their careers.  Landmark also hopes to leverage in future Landmark workflows the research done on emerging technologies which is commonplace at institutions of higher learning.

 

Application Criteria

  • University offers four-year degree plan (B.S., M.S. and Ph.D.)
  • University offers degrees in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering (Reservoir and Drilling), Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics
  • University will provide the required hardware and training needed to provide student access to Landmark technology
  • University will allow recruiting visits from Landmark and oil and gas companies
  • University is deemed strategic by Landmark regional management
  • Within the United States – must be able to document non-profit with tax exempt status under IRS 501 (c)(3) and 509 (a)(1), (2) or (3)
  • Outside the United States: Ability to document Not-for-Profit status
  • Preference will be given to universities that include teaching Landmark technology in both undergraduate and graduate level courses

Software Usage Terms and Conditions

  • The software may only be used as a learning or teaching aid through undergraduate and graduate courses, graduate thesis or student academic research projects.
  • The software may not be used for any personal, private or commercial consulting, training or teaching; or for the purposes of generating revenue for the university or any individual.

Contract Term: 36 months

Program fees
Payment of Third-Party Royalty and annual Administrative Fees are the responsibility of the participant.
