Biography:
John received his B.A. and Masters in chemical engineering and Ph.D. in mathematical sciences from Rice University. He joined Landmark as part of the acquisition of Western Atlas Software in 1996.

Prior to that he had been a professor at the University of Houston for about 10 years. His industrial experience includes positions at both Exxon Production Research and Arco Production Research. At Arco he held the position of Senior Research Advisor. John is considered to be one of the pioneers in the application of supercomputing and parallelization to reservoir simulation. His paper on the simulation of hysteretic phenomena was the recipient of the Alfred Noble (not Nobel) Prize and the Raymond Award.
