iWellFile™ Drilling Reporting Software
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Landmark website. You will be redirected to the new location shortly.
Description | Features | System Requirements

iWellFile drilling reporting software creates a well operations web site that provides users with secure, immediate access to ongoing and historical well information, output reports, downhole schematic diagrams and analytical results available from select Engineer’s Desktop™ applications. Integrated within the Engineer’s Data ModelTM (EDM™) platform, iWellFile technology greatly enhances access and usability of the well operations data store, thereby increasing the value of your data.
With reduced manpower available to manage increasingly complex exploration and production operations, there is an increased demand for current and historical well operations information and performance benchmarks. Timely distribution of current well data, coupled with global access to historical data, has become a mandated requirement of E&P professionals and asset teams. Lead time for data acquisition and consumption must be reduced dramatically in order to meet this need. Web technologies such as iWellFile provide quick and easy access to an operator’s well operations information data store. This level of access integrates geographically dispersed asset team members and other partners, enabling collaboration and common insights or interpretations of the well operation information.
Benefits
Easy to use
Quickly and easily review daily operations information from anywhere, anytime using Internet connectivity. Users require no knowledge or training on Engineer’s Desktop applications to view information and generate outputs.
Improved knowledge sharing
All drilling, completions and well services information stored in EDM is instantly available to anyone granted secure access. Drilling, completion, production and reservoir engineers; management; Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) personnel; and finance and business analysts may all view the same operations information.
Better decisions
All asset team professionals have access to the corporate data repository, including current and historic well data relevant to the team’s focus. This broad-reaching access facilitates improved data review and collaboration which leads to better decision making.
Dynamic, secure access
Read-only access to current and historic data is controlled using a secure login controlled by EDM tight access security. The most up-to-date well information is automatically viewed by users granted access.
Features
Four layout pages
Four separate layout pages provide access to high level summary information down to detailed well data.
1. Dashboard: Provides CEOs and Managers with access to high level summary information for their company’s operations.
2. Multiple Wells: Provides asset teams with access to well operations data for their wells of interest.
3. Single Well: Provides engineers with access to well operations data for their active wells.
4. Analysis: Provides all users with the ability to view Data Analyzer outputs in graphical or tabular form.
High level data security
iWellFile software uses the EDM security system to control access to well operations information. Users are prevented from accessing “tight-hole” information to which they have not been granted access.
Calendar-based selection
A calendar provides a simple date-based operations report selection mechanism. In addition, the date selected in the calendar drives the data displayed in each layout.
Well Filters
Common EDM filtering architecture enables users to limit their well selections to discrete wells of interest. Users can configure and/or upload filters created in OpenWells® to see only relevant wells such as wells within an operations group, a particular field, or operated by a particular rig or contractor.
Dynamic depth referencing
Users can select from a list of Reference Datum Level Elevations to view downhole depths. The reference elevation can be dynamically changed, and iWellFile will automatically adjust depths relative to the new elevation.

Unit Selection
iWellFile software enables users to view numeric values to any display unit set available in EDM. The active unit set may be changed any time.
Well Operations summary
Summary well operations information is provided so that users can view operations summary information for active wells on the selected date of interest. There is a link in this area to view the Daily Operations Report for the active well.
Key Performance Indicators
iWellFile software is distributed with example performance metrics used to track operations parameters that reflect operations and cost effectiveness and drilling and safety performance. Comparisons between current results and historical performance can be made quickly. Separate KPIs can be defined for each layout page. Each Performance area can be customized enabling operators to display appropriate performance metrics for their particular types of operations.
Customizable
Designed to enable operators to configure various interfaces to best meet their requirements. Customization features include general settings such as Well Operations display information, KPIs, timeout durations schematic file cache duration, logo image, and overall look and feel. Displayed text labels can be translated to other languages. iWellFile software fully supports the EDM Data Dictionary.
Operational plots
Well operations progress graphs including Depth vs. Days, Cost vs. Days, and Depth vs. Cost are provided. These graphs show actual and planned curves for each selected well.
Guest access
Companies can choose to provide guest access which will allow users to enter iWellFile using a URL address without having to log into the EDM database.
Default login date
The default login date can be configured to match the reporting standard for the region. Options include “today”, “yesterday”, or “last day” that a report exists for the Well and Event.

Dashboard page
Additional features on the Dashboard page include graphs for rig count, safety incidents, daily/monthly/cumulative production, and monthly/cumulative costs.
Multiple Wells page
The Multiple Wells page provides access to the Multiwell Management Summary Reports, the drill-down 24-hour operations summary and detailed daily activity information.
Single Well page
Additional features on the Single Well page include:
-
Quick access to OpenWells™ Daily and Summary Operations Reports available on a selected date.
-
Summary wellbore equipment drilling and completions schematics generated from PROFILE™ software.
-
A link to PROFILE Wall Plots enables users to generate, view, save, or print high quality wellbore schematics in various sizes and layouts for hard copy output. Plots may include equipment schematic diagrams, data boxes (which may include any number of wellbore details), logos and other images, lithology details, plan or vertical section views, and survey 3D views.
-
Well Details provides summary well information such as name and location.
-
Directional survey plots show 3D View, Vertical Section, Plan View, and Inclination/Azimuth for users with COMPASS™ software.
Analysis page
Users can run Data Analyzer queries, configured for use within iWellFile software, against the EDM database. Output can be selected in the form of graphs or tables. Resulting tables or graphs content can be copied to the Windows Clipboard and copied into other Windows applications.
