RotaVac® Rotary Vacuum Dryer (RVD)

RotaVacEfficiently and safely reducing the amount of drilling waste generated
Rather than using centrifugal force to dry cuttings, the RotaVac® rotary vacuum dryer (RVD) system operates by using a cuttings drying and waste reduction technology that uses high velocity air and differential pressure, contributing to much safer operations. This unique Halliburton technology helps reduce oil retention on cuttings at a much lower cost than a typical cuttings dryer leaving as little as 4% oil-on-cuttings. This enables operators to recover fluid for re-use and decreases waste transport costs. The RotaVac RVD works best on larger size cuttings, helping to ensure high ROP operations are not inhibited by waste management needs.

Using air to reduce safety risk
The RotaVac dryer has advanced the cuttings dryer technology by promoting safer operations. By using high velocity air and a vacuum system to separate cuttings right at the shaker instead of a more complex auger system, safety risk can be significantly reduced. Less time is spent concerned with maintenance and system repairs because a typical multi-step process is turned into just one step.

Decreased footprint for simplified operations and reduced costs
The small footprint of the RotaVac RVD allows it to be placed under the shale shakers, eliminating the need to transfer cuttings using augers or other conveyance systems to normal cuttings dryers. Rig-up and installation are simplified, while helping to improve HSE and reducing operational complexity. It can be operated from a remote skid, mounted anywhere on the rig site, allowing for optimal customization to rig space available.
