GABI™ Sensor - Gamma/At-Bit Inclination

HP/HTLWD sensor provides at-bit azimuthal gamma ray and inclination measurements for improved geosteering and optimum well placement. The sensor also produces a borehole image that can be used to interpret the bed dip and determine location of an approaching bed. The GABI™ sensor can be mounted within any SperryDrill® positive displacement motor below the power section. It is a powerful tool for drilling long horizontals and staying in the pay.

GABI Sensor Applications

  • Geosteering horizontal wells
  • Detecting approaching bed boundaries with high gamma ray contrast
  • Maintaining tight trajectory control when drilling in formations with high steering difficulty
  • Drilling horizontals in gas reservoirs where extremely flat trajectories can improve production
  • Determining dip direction and detecting fractures via borehole imaging for better reservoir understanding
  • Stopping precisely at desired casing/coring points
