Accurate, Simultaneous Up And Down Waterflow Analysis

The Spectra Flow™ tool enhances water management by accurately detecting and quantifying downhole waterflow. The Spectra Flow tool effectively identifies the water source, entry points, and channels, and the service yields better injection profiles and more efficient conformance measures when evaluating downhole flow patterns.

Comprehensive water flow analysis identifies the source and speed of the water and determines whether the water is flowing up or down the wellbore, or inside or outside the casing (see figure). Water velocity is precisely measured using spectral data provided with continuous logs and stationary impulse step-down tests. For velocities over 50 ft/min, a more distant natural gamma ray detector helps improve overall accuracy. The Spectra Flow tool offers multiple configuration options for differing flow types, and its modular design permits easy combinations with other production logging tools.
