KBR'S GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AMERICAS UNIT RECEIVES
PRESTIGIOUS ISO 9001:2000 CERTIFICATION
- Certification demonstrates KBR's ongoing commitment to service quality -
ARLINGTON, Virginia - Kellogg Brown & Root Services, Inc., the government and infrastructure division of KBR, a wholly owned subsidiary of Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), today announced the ISO 9001:2000 certification of its Americas government services business.
KBR's ISO certification signifies that its business processes are well defined, consistent and client-oriented, and that they focus on continuously improving the quality of services. Specific service areas covered by the certification include facilities management, operations and maintenance, training and education, personnel support, design, construction, contingency operations and asset management.
"This is a great achievement for KBR's government services business and everybody involved," said Al Neffgen, chief operating officer for the Americas region of KBR's Government and Infrastructure division. "Not only does it affirm that KBR is committed to service quality, but it also demonstrates KBR's dedication to internal controls and continuous process improvement."
KBR has a 60-year history of providing superb support to the U.S. government, including building ships in World War II and refurbishing tanks in the Korean War. The company helped provide humanitarian assistance in famine-stricken Somalia and has supported the troops there and in the Balkans, and now in Kuwait, Iraq and several other locations throughout the world.
ISO 9001 certification measures the effectiveness of the business and quality management systems implemented by the organization to deliver its products and services. The ISO 9001:2000 standard is internationally recognized for its emphasis on meeting regulatory and customer quality requirements, enhancing customer satisfaction, and the continuous improvement of business processes which influence quality.
The audit was conducted by AFAQ, one of the world's leading certification bodies. By certifying more than 20,000 companies in 60 countries, AFAQ has gained a reputation for its integrity and is renowned for its expertise.
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the source of the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 families of quality and environmental management standards and some 14,000 International Standards for business, government and society. ISO is a network of national standards institutes from more than 140 countries working in partnership with international organizations, governments, industry, business and consumer representatives.
