HALLIBURTON OPENS CANADA'S LARGEST REAL TIME OPERATIONS CENTRE IN CALGARY

- Real time processes significantly reduce non-productive time, cut planning cycle time and improve wellbore placement -

Calgary, AB - Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), announced today it has opened Canada's largest Real Time Operations Centre (RTOC) in Calgary. Within the state-of-the-art facility, operations can be continuously monitored, recognizing safety critical variables and guaranteeing an immediate response to potential issues or opportunities through just-in-time interventions.

"Halliburton is providing access to the latest technologies and processes for managing well operations for our customers in Canada," said David Ackert, Canada regional vice president, Halliburton's Energy Services Group. "By enabling a collaborative, real-time approach to their work processes, field engineers and the office-based experts can improve decision quality and reduce cycle time around all aspects of developing their oil and gas reservoirs."

Making the right planning decisions can drive the overall success of well operations. Being able to monitor actual versus plan information through real time processes within an RTOC environment is revolutionizing the industry's approach to drilling and completions. This approach can significantly drive down non-productive time, while improving wellbore placement reducing well planning cycle time. Within this facility, engineers, petrophysicists and geoscientists can manage and analyze disparate surface and sub-surface information, including seismic and operations data. This environment has been designed to integrate all of this information in a collaborative setting to better support well planning, resulting in a significant improvement in multi-disciplinary decisions and overall field knowledge.

"Canadian companies have to manage more operations on smaller and in many cases more complex reservoirs. In addition, many companies are challenged to get the right expertise to the problem at the right time," said Ackert. "We believe that this collaborative, real time environment will have a tremendous impact for our customers and will be unequalled in Canada."

In addition, the RTOC incorporates the collective expertise, processes and technologies from Halliburton to allow oil and gas companies to monitor global multi-well drilling programs from a single location.

The RTOC is part of a larger Asset Management Centre where clients will be invited to work their small or large scale assets. By deploying the latest Linux clusters, Windows and Unix technologies, optimized for processing, simulation and reservoir modeling within fully immersive Decision Centres, the Canadian Asset Management Centre will provide Canadian companies unprecedented capabilities for managing their critical assets throughout their prospect generation, drilling and completions and field development workflows, all the time, integrated to field operations in real-time.
