HALLIBURTON HELPS ANIMAL RESCUE EFFORTS IN NEW ORLEANS

-- Company lends a hand to animal rescue group helping those who cannot help themselves --

HOUSTON, Texas – When the call for help came to Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) early Saturday morning, it did not take long for the company to deliver the help an animal rescue organization desperately needed to continue evacuating animals left behind in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Having been on the ground in New Orleans for 15 days and working with federal relief agencies to save more than 600 stranded dogs, cats and other animals, the 150-member volunteer group from Pasado's Safe Haven in Monroe, Wash., needed assistance. The organization needed a means to transport the four-legged survivors in New Orleans from their flooded homes to an animal triage unit the group had assembled in a Raceland, La., barn.

Halliburton stepped in and within hours donated the transportation elements needed to continue the rescue operation.

"Halliburton has a dedicated history of community outreach. Working with Pasado's Safe Haven on this very important effort is a prime example of Halliburton's Energy to Help," said Andy Lane, Halliburton Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

"We’re grateful to Halliburton for their fast action and help," said Susan Michaels, Co-Founder, Pasado’s Safe Haven. "We needed help quickly and we knew we could count on Halliburton to come through."

When well enough to travel, the animals rescued by Pasado’s Safe Haven will make their way to 48 states and southern Canada, where they will continue to gain strength and potentially be reunited with their owners or adopted into a private home.

Pasado's Safe Haven, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is one of the premier animal rescue organizations in the United States dedicated to 24-hour rescue and rehabilitation of dogs, cats and farm animals. The group's web site may be accessed at www.pasadosafehaven.org.

Halliburton, founded in 1919, is one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the petroleum and energy industries.
