HALLIBURTON FACILITY ACHIEVES NATA ACCREDITATION IN RECORD TIME
- Accreditation assures clients of the accuracy of test services
provided by Pipeline and Process Services facility -
HOUSTON, Texas - Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) announced today that its Halliburton Australia Pty Ltd Pipeline & Process Services facility has been accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) in the field of mechanical testing. NATA, an independent, not-for-profit organization, is Australia's government-endorsed provider of accreditation for laboratories conducting tests, calibrations and measurement covering a broad spectrum of technical fields. It is recognized as the largest and most diverse laboratory accreditation body in the world.
"This accreditation provides an added assurance to Halliburton clients that test data supplied by our laboratory is accurate and reliable," said John Hoogerhuis, project leader, Halliburton's Pipeline and Process Services. "Normally NATA accreditation takes up to one year to complete, however, with a tremendous effort that included extensive training on the part of Halliburton employees and the cooperation of NATA, the process was completed in less than two months."
NATA accreditation uses criteria and procedures specifically developed to determine technical competence. Halliburton personnel at the Pipeline and Process Services facility had to demonstrate their knowledge and competence levels by performing specific tests and measurement in a mock hydro test set up. After subsequent amendment, the facility's Quality Assurance System was audited and accepted by NATA.
