LANDMARK SIGNS RESELLER AGREEMENT WITH FLARE SOLUTIONS

- Alliance provides a step-change in information discovery, retrieval and use -

HOUSTON, Texas - Landmark Graphics, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton, announced today the signing of a reseller agreement with Flare Solutions Limited. The combination of Landmark's data management applications and services with Flare's E&P Catalog system will provide a unique solution encompassing the integration of technical data with business level knowledge for oil and gas companies. The integrated solution from Landmark and Flare will enable energy companies to achieve a step-change in information discovery, retrieval and usage for technical and management users alike.

Under the agreement, Landmark will integrate The E&P Catalog™ from Flare into its broad offering of data and application management applications for the upstream energy industry. The E&P Catalog is a web-based application that supports improved focus on corporate responsibility, providing management overview of business information, decisions and processes -- fulfilling the industry's need for increased information visibility and audit-ability. The E&P Catalog application is able to capture and transfer knowledge across an organization to increase productivity and reduce business risk.

"Landmark is proud to become a reseller of the E&P Catalog from Flare, which we feel will become a key component of our data and application management offering to the oil and gas industry," said Andy Lane, president and CEO of Landmark. "It will help provide our customers with one-stop access to all their E&P information assets, regardless of owner, media, location or technology."

"This agreement will provide Flare with access to a global market and support infrastructure. The business level focus avoids the complex low-level connectivity issues that characterize many software integration developments in the E&P industry," said Paul Cleverley of Flare. "The catalog brings together views of databases, documents and archives with information on people, processes, services and applications."

The E&P Catalog will operate seamlessly with Landmark's data management and technical applications, integrating with Team WorkSpace™, Landmark's web-based portal and PowerExplorer™, Landmark's Web-based GIS data management tool. The E&P Catalog also provides a framework for Landmark's other data management products, including its OpenWorks project data browser WOW™, Corporate Data Archiver™ and PowerJournal™.

The E&P Catalog is based on the emerging E&P industry data catalog standards from the Petrotechnical Open Standards Consortium (POSC), ensuring companies are not locked into proprietary vendor data model standards. This covers the full E&P lifecycle including exploration, development, production and operations, as well as HSE (health, safety and environment) management and regulation compliance. It can be deployed as a stand-alone system, or as a plug-in to existing portal or intranet solutions to provide business structure -- enabling a scalable approach to support asset team, business unit or enterprise business requirements. One of the unique aspects of the catalog is the way that it leverages thousands of relationships connecting common E&P business processes, information products and classifications to form "intelligent contexts", pushing related content to the end user.
