LANDMARK RELEASES INTEGRATED PRESGRAF AND DEPTHTEAM EXPRESS SOLUTION
- Integrated technology to reduce costs and drill safer, more productive wellbores -
HOUSTON, Texas - Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), today announced the release of two new integrated tools for better oil and gas well design and drilling: Presgraf™ and DepthTeam Express™. Presgraf, a pore pressure prediction tool, was initially developed by BP (NYSE:BP) and is now a key component of Landmark's suite of drilling software. DepthTeam Express, a velocity modeling and depth conversion application, provides tools for quick analysis, velocity modeling and depth conversion. Velocity models are key components in predicting pore pressure below the drill bit and between wells. Landmark has combined these two unique technologies to create a new integrated solution, allowing multi-disciplinary asset teams to rapidly build pressure cubes from velocity data. The resulting cubes can be used for pressure cell identification or seal integrity prediction, ensuring safer drilling programs and more cost-effective wellbores.
"Our customers are looking for workflow-based technology that enables multiple disciplines to work effectively together," said Andy Lane, president and CEO of Landmark. "The combination of Presgraf and DepthTeam Express bridges a gap between the geophysical world and the drilling world and allows our customers to plan and drill safer wellbores in an integrated fashion. The results are lower costs and a positive impact on the health, safety and environment of drilling operations."
Presgraf and DepthTeam Express use OpenWorks™, seismic velocity data, log data, and other sources to create pressure estimates. The results can be visualized in Landmarks three-dimensional viewing technology in Windows, Linux or Unix. Landmark's multi-platform visualization solutions, including 3D Drill View and OpenVision, allow geoscientists and drilling teams to view their pressure predication results in the context of their view of the earth model.
"Presgraf is the industry's most widely integrated pore pressure prediction tool," said Bill Sanstrom, Landmark vice president, Drilling, Production, and Economic Systems. "Together, Presgraf and DepthTeam Express provide our customers with the ability to create pressure estimates more effectively than ever before. Using these tools in an integrated fashion, results in safer, more consistent and more accurate estimates with greater speed than ever before."
