Anglo-Suisse Selects Magic Earth Technology for Gulf of Mexico Project

HOUSTON, Texas - Magic Earth, a wholly owned subsidiary of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL), announced today that Anglo-Suisse Inc.(ASI), a privately held Houston-based independent oil company, has signed an agreement to utilize Magic Earth's GeoProbe, the industry's leading volume visualization and interpretation software. In its Houston visualization center, Magic Earth will evaluate nearly 500 blocks located on the Gulf of Mexico shelf, held by production (HBP), and 1,800 open-exploration blocks, of ASI's license to Petroleum Geo-Services 3D seismic data. An integrated team of geoscientists and reservoir engineers from Magic Earth, Landmark Graphics, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton, and ASI will conduct the initial evaluation.

"This agreement with Magic Earth will allow Anglo-Suisse to fully utilize its 3D database in evaluating the nearly 500 HBP blocks for the purpose of acquisition," said John Sherwood, CEO of Anglo-Suisse. "We will be able to quickly and accurately ascertain a field's remaining upside potential in regards to by-passed pay zones, untested reservoirs and deeper exploration potential. We believe this state-of-the-art technology and business relationship model allows companies of our size to be competitive with the larger E&P companies in the Gulf," he added.

"Magic Earth is delighted to assist Anglo-Suisse in evaluating their 3D seismic database and HBP blocks," said Michael Zeitlin, president and CEO of Magic Earth. "Our technology and services team are uniquely positioned to help small independent companies, like Anglo-Suisse, analyze large volumes of data quickly with minimal staff and improved accuracy. We will assist in facilitating Anglo-Suisse's development of further prospects, quicker, while adding vital reserves to our national inventory."
