LANDMARK ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF
CORPORATE DATA ARCHIVER
- Powerful Web-based data management tool for capturing oil and gas company corporate knowledge -
HOUSTON, Texas - Landmark Graphics Corporation, a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton (NYSE: HAL), announced today the release of Corporate Data Archiver™, a Web-based data management tool that is designed to store and protect the digital assets of upstream exploration and production companies. This streamlined data management system provides rapid retrieval of critical data and knowledge, and reduces the need to rework projects or reacquire data due to lack or loss of information.
Corporate Data Archiver extends Landmark's industry leading oil and gas data management capabilities and is the first release in Landmark's new Corporate Data and Knowledge Management product line. It stores definitive versions of data, information and knowledge, such as prospect evaluations or reservoir studies and is designed to visually record a project, automatically creating a snapshot of selected data. This snapshot eliminates the need to restore project data 'just to see what's there,' due to a very rich description. Corporate Data Archiver features an easy-to-use interface where users can simply type in a key word or phrase and easily find archived data and project knowledge. In addition, Corporate Data Archiver consolidates project data and documentation for output to Landmark's PetroBank Master Data Store™ system, where project archives can be safely and securely managed, or saved to corporate IT disk and tape systems.

Prior to availability of the innovative, online knowledge-capture Corporate Data Archiver tool, final project results were often stored in a printed format, frequently making data access difficult and slow. As data volumes continue to grow with the advent of 4D seismic and real-time information, there is an ever-increasing need to store and capture data, information and knowledge in its appropriate context and make it available quickly online.
Corporate Data Archiver fully supports industry-leading products such as the OpenWorks™ R2003 project data management system from Landmark. It is built on a vendor neutral framework allowing subsequent releases to support archiving with industry standard formats such as SEGY, LAS, WellLogML™ as well as support for third-party products and other project management systems. Corporate Data Archiver runs on UNIX and Linux platforms.
