GREEN TRAVEL DAY FOR KBR
ABERDEEN - KBR's Aberdeen-based Production Services group is this week encouraging its 700-strong workforce at its headquarters in Wellheads Place in Dyce to use 'greener' ways to travel to work.
KBR is staging a Green Travel Day on Wednesday 24 September, in a bid to persuade staff travelling to work to leave their cars at home or make sure that car journeys are shared with colleagues.
The day is the initiative of one of the company's graduate development teams and KBR is encouraged by the number of people that have already signed up to take part.
Bob Keiller, KBR Production Services UK Operations Director said "environmental concerns are becoming increasingly important for everyone. By encouraging our staff to consider more environmentally friendly ways of getting to and from work, we can help to reduce pollution, energy usage and road congestion "
Staff are being encouraged to use public transport, car share where they can or cycle or walk to work if practical. They are being advised about the various alternative methods of getting to work, with train and bus timetables being made available to the employees.
